Getting so big!

It's hard to believe that Colin is six weeks old already! He is becoming so expressive - he loves to smile and coo at his toys, and at Mommy and Daddy.

This afternoon, about an hour into his nap, I thought I heard him crying so I figured he must be awake. When I went in to check on him though, it was clear he wasn't awake - just "talking" in his sleep. I couldn't help but capture it on video ....

One Month Old!

Greetings!

It's been a few weeks since we've posted anything on this blog, or updated our photos at flickr (click here to see photos from the past month) - so sorry for the delay. We've had a lot going on in our lives!

As you can see, Colin is growing more and more every day. His personality is really starting to develop, and we are learning that he is a very social, easy-going baby ... well, at least until he decides he's hungry or tired or uncomfortable, and then he'd like us to address his needs NOW :-D

Besides working on holding up his head, Colin has been practicing his smile - he is very much like his father: once the camera comes out, he can't help but ham it up!
As for sleeping through the night .... we are getting closer to reaching our dream of once again sleeping more than four or five uninterrupted hours. There have been a few times when he slept for six glorious hours, but usually the next night he's right back at getting up every two hours. Maybe in another month or so we'll have our nights back!

One interesting development was at his two week appointment - the nurse measured him at 22 inches, not 21 as the hospital had declared. Being the proud mother, I assumed he had grown a full inch since birth, but the nurse informed me that that was not actually possible, and that the hospital notoriously measures inaccurately. In any event, he's an even bigger baby than we thought when we brought him home!

That's about all for now... we'll keep the photos and blog postings more frequent in the future, so be sure to check back often!
